Ubisoft’s The Mighty Quest For Epic Loot is returning on mobile devices

The Mighty Quest For Epic Loot was one of Ubisoft's first ventures into free-to-play territory and it ended up being canceled in 2016 along with Ghost Recon Phantoms.

It wasn't a bad game per se; in fact, it was extremely original if we take into account the actual state of things, where Battle Royales are the new trend, following on collectible card games and MOBA games.

The Mighty Quest For Epic Loot tried to mix Diablo gameplay with Dungeon Keeper mechanics. It was a matter of raiding enemy castles and making sure that your castle is well protected, with traps and creatures defending your loot.

Sadly, some controversial changes to the game pushed the monetization system heavily into pay-to-win territory, resulting in a collective player outrage that damaged its reputation. Thus, it was canceled.

Now, Ubisoft has just announced that The Mighty Quest For Epic Loot is making a comeback on Android and iOS devices. The launch is planned for July 9, 2019 and it should come with a big PvE campaign comprised of over 100 different environments, PvP arenas, a bit of humor and tons of loot.

The hack-and-slash RPG gameplay is said to be “one-thumb”, so I don't see it being too in-depth.

As for the Dungeon Keeper side of things, where you protect your castle, Destructoid says that this may not be in the game. That will be a shame.
