News:
Black Desert: first English client screenshots
Pearl Abyss recently posted three screenshots of Black Desert in the official Facebook page. English screenshots! Definitely good news! The studio said that the screenshots were taken from the English client they’re working on and that they don’t know yet if the next Black Desert closed beta, scheduled for early 2014, will include this option. Although this is far from a confirmation of a Western release, this could be the step that makes it a lot easier to do. The first Black Desert closed beta was a huge success and this MMORPG is getting a lot of worldwide attention, so here’s hoping that North America and Europe get to play the game during 2014.
Blade Hunter enters alpha testing
The beat ‘em up MMORPG Blade Hunter just entered alpha testing. If you like games such as Dungeon Fighter Online, give it a try. Set in a vibrant fantasy world, Blade Hunter fuses classic side-scrolling beat ‘em up gameplay with modern MMORPG features. Alpha players will take one of three unique classes – Knight, Rogue, and Valkyrie. While Blade Hunter can be enjoyed solo, those that form parties and Guilds will gain the upper hand. The most determined players will unlock Bladesouls, spirits of war that can change the course of any encounter.
Monster Madness Online revealed
Trendy Entertainment just revealed Monster Madness Online, a new game in this somewhat discrete series. The makers of Dungeon Defenders are working with Nom Nom Games, which is possibly the greatest studio game ever imagined. Monster Madness Online will be free-to-play and is already in open alpha testing. You may redeem a key in the official website to join the alpha, which can be played in your browser or by downloading a client, as well as sign up to the upcoming beta. Monster Madness Online is described as a free MMORPG action shooter featuring cel-shaded cartoon graphics, skill-based combat, over 70 enemies and bosses and 10 different vehicles. There’s also crossplatform play between PC, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android, Web Browser, Windows Phone 8 and probably a potato or two, we might add.
‘Find the Game' Quiz:
Some games are closed and later come back to life for another. This game is like the undead, it just won’t stay down. This MMORPG reappeared in 2013 for another shot but quickly disappeared again, to return in late October as a RPG and MOBA hybrid. The first one to write the answer in the comments will see his name featured in the next Free to Play Unlimited episode.
Most Wanted: Phantom Army
Blacklight Retribution developer Zombie Studios is working on a new free-to-play shooter, a PC exclusive titled Phantom Army. If you think you’ve seen Phantom Army somewhere before, you’re absolutely right. This game is in fact a rework of Special Forces: Team X, a so-so third-person cover based shooter. But before you go all ‘this game will suck!', remember that the acclaimed Blacklight Retribution was also based on a previous, average game called Blacklight: Tango Down. So keep your hopes up. Phantom Army is developed in cooperation with Smilegate, makers of Crossfire. The game is scheduled for early 2014 on Steam.
