News:

WildStar is going free-to-play this fall
Once again, the rumors turned out to be true; WildStar is going free-to-play this fall, NCsoft has revealed. WildStar is still going to feature optional in-game purchases as well as a Signature option for players who want a few extra perks, but the game is said to be completely free, no restrictions. You can level up to 50 and achieve path level 30, same as paying players. WildStar had a troubled lifecycle as a subscription-based MMORPG and NCsoft finally decided to make the change, meaning that we’ll have two big games from this studio as free-to-play late 2015.

Blade & Soul is coming to the west late 2015
Hell must have frozen over, because Blade & Soul is really getting a release in North America and Europe. Better late than never, right? When many fans had already given up on Blade & Soul and moved they hype to more reliable upcoming games such as Black Desert Online, NCsoft decided it was finally time to reveal that this martial arts MMORPG was still in development and with a beta planned for this fall. A livestream revealed a few more juicy details, including the fact that the game won’t be censored, that the western version won’t be based on a specific client, or that it will ship with the first three acts, meaning there will be a lot of content at launch. We have more details on Blade & Soul, so check our site for extra info. The full release is planned for this winter.

Heroes of the Storm cosplays with Maxim Korea
Blizzard is definitely spreading the word about the upcoming game Heroes of the Storm, to the point of partnering with Maxim Korea for some sexy cosplay. We can’t blame Blizzard for trying to get the online brawler Heroes of the Storm noticed in Korea, the most relevant eSports market in the world, even if it means getting three models to cosplay as Heroes of the Storm female characters Jaina, Nova and Nazeebo. In war, love and MOBA games, everything goes, it seems. Heroes of the Storm is pretty much a MOBA, but Blizzard prefers to call it a brawler. Currently in open beta, it launches on June 2.

Dirty Bomb is about to enter open beta
Splash Damage’s free-to-play FPS Dirty Bomb is finally entering open beta on June 2, after many months in closed beta. Everyone will be able to play this fun, competitive shooter by downloading it on Steam. The open beta will bring five maps with Objective style gameplay and twelve mercs. The official launch is expected sometime in June 2015, so you can already begin counting the days.

Echo of Soul is now in open beta
Echo of Soul is quickly approaching release. It is now in open beta and everyone is able to try this fantasy MMO right now. While the stress test had players trying the game without the need for a key, after the server wipe came a few days in maintenance and the open beta, which began May 28. No more wipes, no more beta keys, you can now begin leveling up your characters without fear of losing your progress. Echo of Soul isn’t a very consensual game, with some players loving it while others dismiss it as generic. What do you think of it?

‘Find the Game’ Quiz

When crazy spellcasting characters decide to go at it, all hell breaks loose. These fun folks are so chaotic that besides killing their enemies, they can actually kill each other. Talk about getting your priorities straight. The first one to write the answer in the comments will see his name featured in the next Free to Play Unlimited episode.

Most Wanted: Moonrise

It seems there’s no way we can get Nintendo to make a proper Pokémon MMO, so we’ll have to settle for some alternatives. Moonrise is one of those and it’s surprisingly cool. Coming from the studio that created the survival horror game State of Decay, Moonrise is clearly inspired by Pokémon, turning you into wardens that have to collect and use Solari in battle against the Lunari. It’s a really cool game with a PvP focus and a nice, clean, colorful artstyle that is going to make the conversion to mobile platforms a lot smoother. It just entered early access on May 27 and while you can buy some packages, it will be free-to-play at launch.

We liked it quite a lot and the only thing it is missing is open world exploration, but as far as Pokémon-inspired games go on PC, this is about as good as it gets right now.
